They have narrowed down the principle cosmic forces that eradicate this phenomenon into 3 cycles and channel by 5 elements. The 5 elements are Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth, the 3 cycles namely the Sheng, Ke and Wu cycle. Practitioners adopt these chains of cycles as an analogy to perform remedies and cures to unfavorable situations or to amplify a favorable situation.
The most important cycles are the Sheng (Production) and Ke (Destroying) Cycle. When studying the interactions between these elements and their effects in your property. Some practitioner only considered the interaction of these two cycles. The Wu (Controlling) cycles is mainly adopted as alternate approach to remedy or enhance on a particular situation. Now you need to remember in heart the flow of these three cycles as they will come in handy during later parts. Do not fret out as I will summarize a technique to memorize them. You will only need to memorize the production cycle.
